Riding Vacations In France

What better way to truly enjoy a area that to savour its wine as you experience its countryside from horseback. If you select a riding break around the trails in Bordeaux, this is just what you will discover, all from the comfort of a Wintec 2000 saddle. The noblest wines are manufactured Gironde area, famous among which are Cote de Blaye, Bordeaux Superior, Lalande, Medoc, Saint-Emilion, etc.

If you are searching for beautiful countryside with a range of mountain paths, vineyards or coast paths, then Gironde is the place for you. Unspoilt areas still persist all throughout the region, spoiling the riders. With wine available as you past through vineyards, the miles will pass quickly. You can see the magnificent castle, Blaye Citadel, which has a extremely large garden wholly covered with flowers in certain areas.

The horses available here are of diverse breed but with diversity to suit all skill levels.  Quaint hotels and farmhouses will function as your lodging on the route.

The valley of the Loire

Gentle hills, wide fields green and yellow, and tall woods greet riders as they journey through the valley along the Loire river. In this environment it won't take very long to unwind and forget about the fast paced life you left behind at the beginning of the ride.

There are numerous smaller chateaux in this area that extend wine testing, however not all do. The Châteaux de Menetou-salon is one such example that sadly does not, but as you pass by it is certainly worth pausing to admire the buildings. Toward the end of the day you are rewarded with the sight of La Verrerie castle with it's lake. If you're tired in the saddle, this sight should [be enough] wake you. The fortress at La Chapelle d'Angillon is a pretty spot for picnics having been in sat in your Wintec saddles and for visiting the castle.

Provence Inn-to-Inn Ride

Vineyards, lavender and olive plantations welcome riders as they head through the stunning Luberon district of Provence. As every day passes, you lazily rise above the valley floor and get ever more remote into the mountains following paths little used today. You will be able to enjoy the views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Pyrenees and Provence, all at the same time.

Riding a Camargue or Selle Francais horse and being led by an English-speaking guide, you will remember the best ride of your life to this point. At midday, you can expect an excellent picnic lunch and at the end of the day a really restful shower or a comfortable bath prior to the saddle review over the evening meal. Just remember to pace yourself over the week.

In 5 days you can experience a significant section of the region with varying terrain. Take it at your own speed to make the best of it.
