When choosing cat carriers, there will be features and specifications that you should be giving more importance, depending on your preferences and your cat’s requirements. Here are those features and specifications:
Size
Obviously, you need to give your pet some space to feel at ease. If you are traveling without a carrier, you would be either holding the cat or letting it roam free. If someone is holding the cat throughout the trip, it will feel constrained. If, on the other hand, it is let go then it could be in danger in getting thrown around in the vehicle. So, pick a carrier that is not too big to make it feel at bewildered but not too small to make it feel constrained. Handles

What kind of pet carrier should I use?
I have a pretty decent size cat (about 13lbs.) and I need to carry him to the vet and I am moving soon. Should I get the soft carrier or a hard plastic one? I was leaning towards the soft just because they look more comfortable for him, but I thought I would get your opinion. Thanks!
When I bought a smaller car I had to buy a new carrier because the old one wouldn't fit! So buy one big enough for the pet to be comfortable, but one that's easy to carry and fits nicely in your car.
I always put something soft in the carrier like a towel or small blanket anyway. Good luck.
