The Many Functions For High Quality LED's
The LED, which means "Light Emitting Diode" is gaining a lot more popularity for use in many products and appliances. This is due to of its low price, proportions and strength of light. Here are some of the many applications and items that use LED's:
LED Displays
Check around and you'll see LED indicators on many companies. One great example of LED light application is in Las Vegas. The giant multi color signs blinking messages, videos and event information are seen outside just about every Las Vegas resort. Another incident is when you go to get motor fuel. It's likely your gas station, if it was built somewhat lately, has a LED mark that allows the owner to alter prices much more easily than the old manual signs made of plastic or metal.
LED Flashlights
From little key chain lights to large, high power lantern lights, torches are one of the best uses for LED lights. You may already have some LED torches in your home.
LED's for Traffic Safety
Once you pass an area of the road that is under construction, it's possible that you'll see blinking LED light navigating you away from the vicinity.
LED Lights For The Home
LED use is now ever rising in popularity in applications for the home. LED is now considered a substitute for florescent lighting. LED items for use in the home carry high performance light bulbs, 12 volt DC light bulbs, lighting strips, under cabinet bulbs, light bars, reading lampshades, office lamps, floodlights, monitoring lights, lanterns, emergency lights, head lamps, book lights, solar energy lights, outdoor lights, motion detecting lights as well as a few other light items for home use.
LED Novelties
You will find LED's used to make many novelty toys and essential accessories like glow sticks, for instance. Yes, those sticks of light that you notice kids using to go trick or treating on Halloween night, some of them use LED. Also, jewelry is a popular way to use LED. Anyone can see LED's brightening up items like anklet bracelets, necklaces, earrings, hair accents and rings. LED's have manufactured their way into novelty products like glasses, toy swords, toy guns, charms, wands as well as cheerleader accessories.
LED's for the Holidays
The holidays, especially Christmas, are just about the most popular times of the year to use LED lights. If you've bought Christmas lights recently, most probably they are made up of LED's. Another exciting use of LED lights for New Year's Eve is a string of candle lights for the tree. In past times, people would light their bushes up with candles. Having candles on a Christmas tree is really dangerous. However, with LED's, you can get the same appearance without the safety problem.
Definitely many more LED applications and products will be readily available for use in the future.

Multi coloured flashing star?
I'm not sure what it is, but for the last few years on rare occasions I've noticed either a single or multiple stars that flash red, green, blue, white and a Goldy/yellow colour? From what I've researched on the Internet there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on such a thing. I don't think it's a satellite as it seems to dim down after a while, like a dying star. What could it be?
I'm located in the United Kingdom, Milton Keynes. I've just noticed it's slowly moved to the right, It was exactly in the middle of my window now it's to the right? It doesn't look big enough to be a planet? It’s exactly the same size and colour as a star when it stops flashing. There were loads of stars out tonight although that’s the only one which has remained. If you’re in the United Kingdom you may be able to see it. Finally, as for the person informing me of twinkle little star, I know they flash it's just unusual so many different colours.
Sounds to me like an excellent description of a bright star near the horizon. As it rises it will flash a lot of different colors, but the flashing should die down after it gets several degrees up in the sky. If the star is in the west or southwest then you might be looking at Venus; it is now getting higher in the sky each night. When it's near the horizon even it will flash and twinkle; as it sets each night it will appear to get dimmer and dimmer as its light shines through the thicker parts of the atmosphere.
