The Myth About Laser Eye Surgery Correction
Laser eye surgery has been around in the occidental world for a bit over 20 years. However, there is a vast number of patients who are very concerned about making such a move. Still many myopia or hyperopia sufferers declare happy to carry on living with their eye condition than investing in the laser eye technology. However, cataract sufferers are the most likely ones to have a laser eye treatment as cataract surgery is by far the most popular eye surgery.
With such a large number of available treatments covering different budgets and conditions there's no wonder why so many people get confused when it comes to choosing a treatment. Celebrities are very used to LASIK but it is questionable whether they get a better treatment just because they can afford paying more. The number if celebrities who have undergone a laser eye treatment include Cindy Crawford, Courtney Cox, Brooke Shields, Jessica Simpson and Elton John. Apart from happy celebs though, there have been other cases were patients' stories were not full of joy.
The risk of getting an infection after a surgery is as small as that of 0.1% which doesn't sound bad at all. This is the case when the cornea becomes infected which means that the patient will face some discomfort and delay in healing. Apparently, over a course of for years there shouldn't be any long term effects. There have been a few complaints of patients that after the surgery their vision got worse compared to that before the surgery. Iregular tissue removal can be the main reason for that which happens very rarely.
The few risks of laser eye surgery comlpications aren't really a hazard for health and they are hugely outweighed by the long term benefits. It is amazing how laser eye technology has evolved over the past 10-20 years which has allowed for so many people to get their vision corrected. With the risks being more and more minimal, having a laser eye surgery now would make a great choice. Last but not least, the cost is constantly going down while the quality and accuracy are getting better and better.
Why don't we have laser guns yet?
I'll have one which shoots blue or green laser/lazer bolts.
You baddies can have the ones which shoot red bolts.
Bullets are so passé.
I mean the type of laser/lazer gun which can kill a person - that kind of power.
well laser light is reflected by the atmosphere attenuating its power with distance. and you could have laser gun that kills people unfortunately the associated power pack and gubbins mirrors electronics ect. would be on the back of a lorry so kinda big to put in your holster. much easier to have a super high preasure water gun you could fit in the boot of your car
Hobbyist builds wrist-mounted, laser-sighted crossbow (Gizmag Emerging Technology Magazine)
A lot of people think crossbows are pretty cool. Lasers, miniaturized things,
and wearable devices also tend to rate pretty high on the neat-o-meter. It
goes to follow, therefore, that a small wrist-mounted laser-sighted crossbow
should have a lot of admirers. Well, laser hobbyist Patrick Priebe built just
such a device, and his video of it in action has already racked up almost
10,000 hits in just four days. As it turns out, the "WristBow" is just the
latest of his cyberpunk-esque creations... Continue Reading Hobbyist builds
